Upper Providence Township - Safest in Delaware County PA

Upper Providence Township in Delaware County PA continues to be ranked as one of the safest cities in Pennsylvania and the country.

Rose Tree Park Upper Providence PABased on a report by, Upper Providence is ranked as the 'safest city' in Delaware County based on an analysis of FBI crime statistics. It was ranked as third safest city in the state as of September 2015. Nationally it is ranked seventh safest in 2016. These rankings continue to reinforce the continuing good reputation of Upper Providence as a popular residential choice in the area.

Providence Township was first settled and formed in 1683. Upper Providence Township was formed in 1687 when Providence Township was split. It's area was later reduced when Media was created from portions of both Upper and Nether Providence. Today, Upper Providence is a township having a population of over 10,000 people with over 4,000 households and 4,000 housing units.

Township home sales activity peaked in 2006 and 2007 with over 200 sales per year and average home pricing above $500,000.
